DELTA 25-869 14-Inch Goose Neck Magnetic Base Mount Lamp Attachment with 8-Foot Cord User Reviews

First off, I spent (wasted, in fact) a great amount of time looking pro this type of lamp online early a GREAT loads of retailers.. Even at this time on Amazon, I had to quest pro it using Delta's Part #, instead of "goose narrow part lamp".. Save pro I persevered and was rewarded pro my hard bring about.. Most additional lamps w/flexible necks are release partially flexy.. They are RIGID pro in this vicinity half of their part, whereas this lamp's narrow part is completely flexible. The magnetic base has a extremely strong grip as water supply, so it doesn't flop or twist in this vicinity once you glue it. In addendum, it cost MUCH a reduced amount of to get your hands on it early Amazon extremely than early my community retailer..

I approved this attractive lamp with the aim of by it with a newly purchased Jet Bandsaw. The pull is passionate sufficient to hold the base to the high wheel take in, but only with the lamp lynching down. If the bendable arm is diagonal to the side or up, the base rotates or slips and will not hold its spot. This manufactured goods might work best if the go up to which it is emotionally caught up is approximate very than the type of charming painted go up one finds on the Jet saw. Save your cash. This one is a dud.

The at the initiation and chief business I check was including the intention of it release takes a 40 watt bulb. Which puts just ample set alight to aid and not quite ample if you be inflicted including a sharp supermarket. The additional business I noticed is including the intention of I went owing to my at the initiation set alight bulb extremely instant as I had it on the bandsaw. I reflect the trembling killed the bulb (get on to a set alight bulb pro fans?), save pro since I stirred it ended to my drill get behind, the set alight bulb has lasted a piece longer. I place of safeguard't had any noticable issues including the influence, it's passionate ample to call the lamp, save pro not anything moreover.

If the attractive base on this light were twice as passionate, it would be worth owning and deserve a distinguished rating. As it turns made known, the attractive base is far away too weak for many of the applications with the intention of this light is intended for. Here are some things I tried with this light:1. Standing upright on a cast iron table (such as a tablesaw) - This thing nearly jumped made known of my hand to stab to my tablesaw.2. Attaching to the side of my drill press - In the end the magnet would not hold the light in this position. Only if I flexed the narrow part so the lamp itself hung straight not effective would it even hold itself to the side of the drillpress - and at that time it was so wobbly with the intention of I was afraid to turn on the press for fear with the intention of the light would slide aptly off...3. Lynching straight not effective from a metal plate on the ceiling - This light will support itself in this manner so long as nothing bumps it, in which case the magnet gives up and the whole thing falls not effective. So, I have to display with the intention of any I got a bad magnet or this tool is not worth owning, or both. In view of the fact with the intention of a clamp on light will do everything with the intention of this can do and more - I don't recommend with the intention of you buy one of these!

One of the small pleasures in life - adequate lighting! I find this very helpful for a number of tools. Get one - you'll be fond of it.

Delta Attractive Base Shop LightCons:- Since the influence isn't as strong as it must be, the lamp only holds well on an absolutely FLAT steel surface or on horizontal & flat cast iron. It holds reasonably well on the top cover plate of a drill press. The large pulley-door on my band-saw is slightly curved, and the lamp won't call at all there. Mount on the side of a band-saw or drill-press, even if flat, and the weight of the lamp shade will [ultimately] rotate the lamp downward on its base. If that's everywhere you need a lamp, you could take out the lamp-base and make a custom bracket or put it in a mounting hole; or, buy something else.Pros:- The goose-neck mechanism, lamp shade, and switch, work well. I've owned similar Delta lamps (non-influence) for a dozen years and their bendable necks subdue work.- Delta recommends a 40 watt A-15 machine bulb, but a 50 watt PAR20 flood is a much best choice. (See Consumer Images.) 30 watt PAR20 flood bulbs also work well. A ordinary 13 watt compact florescent bulb (corresponding to a 60 watt bright bulb), fits of laughter, but extends beyond the shade a bit. Sylvania's 13-watt Compact Fluorescent Micro Mini bulbs are small sufficient not to poke out. Most regular bright bulbs also hold out beyond the shade, so the glare can be distracting, which the last thing you need even as working with shop tools.March 1, 2009 update:I was researching round magnets so as to replace the one on the lamp base - and decided to ordeal Delta's influence. It could pick up a 20 pound York weightlifting plate, but couldn't pick up a 25 pound plate. I noticed that Delta put aluminum thwart [duct] strip on the underside of the influence; I peeled it off and tried over again. This calculate, the Delta attractive base easily picked up a 25 pound plate. Without that shiny thwart, the lamp also stays put on the flat side of a drill-press without the lamp shade rotating not working. Presumably, the thwart is there to care for a painted metal surface from scratches, but without the aluminum interfering with the influence, it's a much best manufactured goods.

I like this light for the fact that you can remove the base and use it to directly mount the unit on a homemade sort or mounting hole on your tools. I found the magnet was not as strong as i would like, but by mounting it directly on my DP with a homemade sort (collectively to the bolts used for mounting the motor) it works splendid, not utterly exact, but better than any other light of ths scenery.

Well through, passionate magnet, kind flexible gooseneck, only what I needed to shed some set alight on my bandsaw. It makes a big variation in work efficiency to have a all ears set alight on your workpiece. Vastly recommended.

I would rather this lamp to allocate the aid of a standard mass bulb, up to 100 watts.

The lamp rating of this light is a touch like 30 watts, not very sharp except you can find a reflector bulb that will fit, and the attractive base, while it mounts steadily to a cast iron table top, doesn't hold on the thin sheet metal of a band saw's wheel covers, the most most likely mounting place on a band saw. I find that I only use it on the drill press with its cast iron head.
